The first question is, what quirk do they mean? MS-Versioning-Quirk? Sometimes they say OS 7.1 (even the version number is 7.10) and in the between we have 7.5 …

The other question for me now is if the newest update 7.10.7740.16 can still be named Mango or should we say Post-Mango-Update, Mango-Fixes etc.?

The update information from Microsoft does not contain the codename:

Don’t get me wrong, I am very satisfied about my WP7 device. But the first time connecting it via WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) was a bit disappointing:

Just wanted to install WP7 updates … Plug&Pray …

Conclusion

• Windows Mobile <—> WMDC
• Windows Phone <—> Zune (syncing of contacts, calendar, e-mail etc. only via cloud, Zune only syncs media content like Images and Videos)

Only, really only one time I’d like to get no error message when using a new device or new software …

Brainstorming

• Needs restart when changing language
• Displayed a PIN as clear text instead of ****
• Missing feature: Unlock device using a gesture or PIN –> Settings | Lock & Wallpaper
• Tons of the Microsoft web sites are telling us what we have to do to get a Windows Phone but once you own one it is hard to find the appropriate information you need
• Syncing it with Exchange works fine (after short research)
• Syncing a separate account (LiveID) works also fine
• Connecting to the PC using WMDC didn’t work (see screen-shot above)
• The HTC Mozart is just a beautiful and handy device
• It is fast (no surge)
• Metro design is nice, fast and easy to use

Kein Sitzenbleiben mehr?

Stimmt schon, wir sind alle nur Menschen und Menschen machen (viele) Fehler. Aber manche Fehler sind auch peinlich … (siehe AK-Zeitschrift)

Sehe das “Nicht Sitzenbleiben” eher kritisch. An sich eine gute Idee, ebenso wie “Kein Geld mehr” (Vergleich “Star Trek”). Aber der Erdenbürger ist noch (lange) nicht so weit!

• Leistung (gute Noten) muss belohnt werden
• Können und Wissen müssen belohnt werden
• Fleiß und Einsatz müssen belohnt werden

Werde dieses Volksbegehren daher nicht unterschreiben.

Leider ist es bei shopauskunft.de nicht möglich, negative Bewertungen abzugeben, schon gar nicht, wenn diese Amazon betreffen:

Ist also nicht möglich, diese “dumm gelaufene” Kauf bei einem Amazon-Marketplace-Anbieter entsprechend zu bewerten. Amazon ist Verkäuferschutz wichtiger, als die Zufriedenheit ihrer Kunden.

Man könnte schon beinahe von einer Monopol-Stellung von Amazon (und somit auch deren Marketplace-Anbietern sprechen) und diese wird von Amazon schamlos ausgenutzt.

Wenigstens scheint die Rückabwicklung zu funktionieren (habe zwar den Betrag noch nicht erstattet bekommen, aber zumindest per E-Mail die Information, dass es bald so weit sein wird.)

Telefon-Spam, Unerwünschte Werbeanrufe, “Gewinn-Benachrichtigungen” etc.
